Mark Twain Recieves $4,000

Mark Twain Principal Jill Patrick received great news August 31st when she received a telephone call from Dayton Mall representative Dave Casper. He explained to Mrs. Patrick that Mark Twain School was selected as this week's winner of the mall's program Earning for Learning. Parents shopping at the mall can turn in receipts from their favorite Dayton Mall or Mall at Fairfield Commons retailer which can earn cash prizes for their local school. Each receipt equals one entry, so the more receipts turned in  - the better the chances each school can win one of six weekly prize drawings.

Britta Wendling, parent of kindergartner Brooklynn Alcorn, saw the flyers advertising the promotion and turned in her receipts. She soon learned that her name was drawn and she had won $4,000 for Mark Twain Elementary School! Today, Fox 45 reporter/anchor Pete Scalia presented a check to Brooklynn, Britta, Mrs. Patrick and Brooklynn's teacher Lindsey Escobar.

Britta and Brooklynn would like to see the funds provide books, supplies or other learning materials that otherwise would not have been available. Thank you Britta and Brooklynn!
